Horses In Training

Lancer
1993 Dutch Warmblood Gelding (Edelmann/Saluut)
bred by Ellen Perry, owned by Eliza Sydnor.
Lancer and Eliza have been together for 12 years now!  They have competed from Training Level through Grand Prix together.  This wonderful horse just keeps giving his all day in and day out.  You truly couldn't ask for a better horse.  Eliza is working on improving the transitions in piaffe & passage.  Lancey is also occasionally teaching some very lucky students of Eliza's - that is, when she feels like sharing him!

Graffini Grace
2000 Hanoverian Mare (Graf Genius/Espri) bred by
Honey Locust Farm, owned by Cindy Sydnor.
Gracie and Eliza have been together for over 7 years now. Eliza started her under saddle and has been her only rider since. Gracie is a very talented mare with a lot of energy and expression. She has competed successfully through the I-1 and is now schooling most of the GP.  Our goal this year is to qualify for the Regional Championships at I-1 and continue progressing her GP work.

Winning Hand
2004 Oldenburg Mare (Wildcard/West Coast) bred by
Judy Arnold, owned by Julie Blume Nye.
"Gigi" was started under saddle by Eliza in the fall of '08.  Since then she has competed very successfully at Training & First levels and also won everything at the NCDCTA Breed show, including Grand Champion!  Last fall she completed the Mare Performance Test very successfully for the NA Oldenburg Assn.  Julie has competed Gigi as well at some local shows with scores in high 60's and 70's.  This year we will work to qualify for Regional Championships at 1st level and show 2nd level by the fall!

 Acadiana

2007 Oldenburg Mare (by Royal Prince), bred and owned by Geraldine Orlando.

Acadiana was started by Eliza last fall and will hopefully stay for a while to come.  She is a beautiful mare and has the kindest disposition.  She is very naturally forward with three lovely gaits.  This year she will start competing at Training Level and possibly try the FEI 4 year old tests!

Double Oh Seven

2007 Oldenburg Gelding (Davidoff Hit/Festrausch) bred by Hilltop Farm, owned by Catherin Cheney.

This boy is going to be amazing!  "Sweet Baby James" has grown up here on Braeburn Farm, and Eliza has just begun to work with him.  He is big (already a little over 17 hh) but SO elegant, and he NEVER went through an awkward stage like most yearlings and 2 year olds do!  He has three very impressive gaits and just the sweetest disposition.  He will begin his competition career this year at Training level and possibly with the FEI 4 year old test!

Lvis

2007 Hanoverian Gelding (Londonderry/Welmeyer) bred by Sullivan Farm, owned by Chelsey Miller.

Lvis arrived in mid August of last year to begin his under saddle training, and he was one of the easiest horses ever to start.  He is always willing, has lovely movement, and just truly enjoys working for the rider.  His owner is already comfortably riding him at Training level, and Eliza will begin showing him this spring with an eye on the FEI 4 year old tests!

 Favulous

2007 Hanoverian Mare (Fabuleux/Walldorf) bred by Mary Messinger, owned by Ellen Peebles.

"Hannah" was started by Eliza last year.  She is back in training now to prepare for her first show at the end of March.  Eliza will be riding her in the FEI 4 year old classes.  Hannah has incredible movement and the sweetest disposition.  She is such a talented mare, and Eliza is really excited about competing her

Maui

2005 Hanoverian Mare (Madison/Dollberg) bred by Dr. Lori Minteer, owned by Ashley Powell.

Maui was recently bought by Ashley Powell and moved to Braeburn Farm in mid March.  She is a gorgeous black mare with three lovely gaits, beautiful conformation, and the sweetest disposition in the world.  She is such a tryer and is always looking to please - which makes her an absolute joy to train.  She and Ashley are still getting to know each other but are already looking fantastic!  She will begin competing this year and also do her Mare Performance Test for the American Hanoverian Society.

Prince Hopeful

2002 Hanoverian Gelding (Prince Optimus/Wummerstern) bred by Honey Locust Farm, owned by Eliza Sydnor.

Pappi is back!!!  We are all so happy that Pappi has come back to Braeburn.  He is his usual adorable self, and he feels great to ride.  We are working on getting him fit again and re-building some topline muscle.  He is so happy to work and is just the most enjoyable horse to ride.  Stay tuned for new pictures soon!
